Weekends

During the weekends, besides the usual groceries shopping and visit to the library, we check out some new places or go back to some lovely places we've enjoyed. Sometimes, we stay home. Here are some of our weekends, captured in pictures.

Last Sunday, we went to the Caribbean Gardens & Markets, in the City of Knox, next to our suburb (ours is City of Whitehorse). The shopping is fun, knick-knacks and stuffs..like a pasar-malam...but no Ramli's burger (i seriously miss this!!!)... we've learnt to like the ang-moh hotdog rolls.

Tricia and Mummy hang around at the side of the lake, feeding and chasing the ducks.

Papa and son enjoying a game of footy. This part of the garden is called Japanese Garden... Hmm..wonder what's so Japanese about it?

We saw the 3 billy goats gruff. Here’s one of the three billy goats, the troll and the bridge. Timothy: It’s true! The story is true!!!
And the most exciting Chairlift ride....

The Chairlift takes us across the lake. Before the ride, Timothy was telling me how he saw people fall off into the water, from the Funniest Home Videos. He's hilarious!!! On the ride, he was worried that his shoes would drop off into the lake but here they are! You can say that he conquered his fear of height!

It's a kids' haven, playground after playground...the kids played at the playground after a hotdog roll lunch. (top right) That was a rather bumpy train ride around the lake...but it's quite complete with the steam engine and the tu-tu, tu-tu! It's a tu-tu train.

When we were home one Saturday afternoon...

I managed to whip up a meal of Char Siew Wanton Noodle Soup… The pork has to be marinated in Lee Kim Kee Char Siew Sauce and grilled in the oven. Timothy made 1 wanton! Tricia can make beautiful wanton and her patience is just fantastic, we made 30 wantons... and we ate them all.

It gets rather cold outside but nothing will stop them from playing in their backyard...just pile on the jumpers, beanies, gloves, socks... Ooo, mummy has alot of clothes to wash!!!

Come dance with these 2 Rockers.

Timothy’s sock puppet, named Curly. It's a puppet crazy month! Timothy's class into puppets this term, they just watched the Polyglot Puppets Show and come Wednesday, mummy goes to class to help the kids make more puppets.

If you look hard enough, you'll see Tricia, Timothy and Jacob…even the sign outside is soooo BIG... the Melbourne Museum is a rojak place of exhibits from everything under the sun. It’s a mix of Science Centre, Zoo and Aquarium, etc…

This is a little section of the Yarra River in the Warrandyte Reserve. It’s a scenic 15 minutes drive away from home. The landscape changes as we drive into the countryside. At the carpark near this lovely place, we love the fresh scent of the pine trees. It’s great for a quiet afternoon, a picnic or just simply sit and watch the ducks. We're drawn to this hideaway, for it's peace and tranquility. These pictures were taken when my parents and sis were here. We still drive there, we just don't take pictures anymore.
