Timothy was still playing in the backyard and watching the sky darkened and the wind speed picked up quite quickly. The leaves were blown in a cyclone-like manner and almost instantly, at 2.40pm, the first hail fell, marble ball size. Timothy ran into the house after he got hit, yelling and didn't have time to take his shoes off. We didnt realize how big the hail stones were until we heard the loud thumping as the hail hit the roof. Like war-time. It was noisy! It lasted for about half an hour. We could see the big hail stones pelting down against our windows and glass doors. Just glad that these didn't crack.
It was tough trying to snap a picture with the howling wind and rain and I didn't want to get hit! That's Tim's cricket bat he abandoned on the yard.
The floor was covered with the hail stones. It looked like it had just snowed. See the car outside our gate? I wonder how many dents it suffered.
The hailstones made holes in the aircon compressor outside.
There was a mini flashflood into our garage but that's really no serious damage compared to the thousands of houses with broken roofs. This week, there're a few car sales 'Hail Car Sales'...
