Tricia's teacher is a loving and gentle lady whom Tricia took a liking to instantly. She was thrilled when she received her letter before the term began. For a fresh start in Grade 2, Tricia has taken a monitor role, being the big sister to the other grade 1 kids in class. She's especially happy to make new friends. She has started tennis with kor-kor after school. Though the racquet look almost too big for her, she's shown good progress, feeling so victorious that she can hit the ball over the net. Way to go, Tricia! She looks forward to piano lessons on Fridays in school with her piano teacher.
Timothy continues to thrive in his learning. Timothy is very happy to be with his best mate Jamie again. These 2 boys hit it off so well and they're enjoying another great year in grade 5. Last week, he was spending more time to complete his Math homework and commented that his teacher had finally gave him something challenging. One day he came home and said he's 'brain-dead' cos he's been moved to the higher ability grade 6 grouping for Math. His teacher is truly engaging him in his learning. No time to be bored! Timothy's teacher is a delightful and enthusiastic person. He likes her lively and animated nature and often brings lots of humour and fun to the lessons. Timothy continued with tennis and also picked up piano at school. Now, it looks like mummy and papa have to look out for a piano, the keyboard is not holding up much longer.
Mummy also joined the kids at school, this time as a volunteer teacher teaching CRE (Christian Relisious Education). I take my 2 kids classes for half an hour each once a week on Thursday. With the teacher book and my years of teaching, it was no sweat. Frankly, it's much to walk into class and just have to love them and work with them to learn more about God. And I thoroughly enjoy the characters in class.
Outside school hours, we're all well occupied. The kids go to the library on Mondays, tennis on Tuesdays, swimming on Thursday and usually to the park to play after school on Fridays. In the evening, there's their piano practice, theory work (of which I know nothing about!), homework and project. They continue their Mandarin class on Saturday mornings.
We continue to worship at Burwood Community Presbyterian Church on Sundays. We're thankful for the little little things that made life simply wonderful. There are the testimonies of God's greatness in the little blessings from day to day.
There's a saying "Success is the result of small daily effort"... true, fair enough. And I believe also that "Happiness is the result of small daily blessings".

Hmmm...busy busy ya? But good to keep the young minds busy & learning. I have heard both Timothy & Tricis played at their keyboard & I am really impressed. They are both rather musically inclined. The "artists" in the family ;) Keep it up!
