We will miss ushering in the Year Of The Rat. The mummy is especially anxious that the 2 kiddos remember the tradition of Reunion Dinner and Pai-Nian. As a child, both papa and mummy enjoyed the Lunar New Year gatherings. Afterall, there were many siblings and cousins to play with. Life was much simpler then, so the new clothes and shoes was really something special. With simple meals most of the time, the goodies was also a treat. The extra pocket money and savings from the Hong Pao was the highlight of every Lunar New Year. As for my kids, these are just tales of the past...

Xin Nian Kuai Le! I didn't celebrate CNY too as Zach had fever on the 1st day and we were at the hospital till 3rd day. So you guys are not alone! :)

Joash now wakes up at 5.45am to catch the 6.15am school bus. Aren't you glad that your kids are spared the agony of waking up in the wee hrs for school?!
