Cold Snap

A cold snap last Sunday sent snow to the nearby hills and Dandenong Mountain. Down here, it was rainy, windy and biting cold. It was just great to stay home, watched the Olympic Games and just lounge around. We only went out to the mall for a snack at 4pm.

It’s been cloudy and rainy this week. A real challenge to step out and walk to school in the morning. It’s a huge freezer out there. I also noticed a drop in the pupils attendance at school. Must be really hard for some families to get to school on time in this cold. Principal put up reminders in the weekly newsletter. He’s been counting the number of latecomers and one morning, he counted 45 late ones from 8.45am to 9.05am. There must be more after that time ;)

This weather is not out of the ordinary. It’s the kind of winter that Mel always had. Especially this month. Just when I thought it wasn’t going to get any colder, the weather forecast for the rest of the month will see temperature dip to a low of 1 degrees.

Oh Wow! How exciting the month of Aug is turning out to be. Temperature as low as 1 deg & black outs, what next? Do keep warm & stay cosy....
