Skin Saver

A new ritual began for us when we arrived downunder. It's a battle against the climate. The very very very dry climate, with a low humidity level of about 20% to 40%. That’s sooooooo far from the humidity level of about 95% in SGP.

We have to deal with dry skin condition everyday. It can be so dry that I feel my skin rather tight and itchy. It's expecially bad for my hand and fingers. I have 3 tubes of Hand and Nail cream, one in my bag, one in the bedroom and one in the hall. That's really for convenience and a constant reminder to moisturise the hands!!!

The worst so far has been scaly patches and I often point out to my kids that they have ‘lizard’ skin. That scares them and they would always run for their bottle of moisturizer. They each have one bottle in their bedroom. And this is mummy's magic bottle...

Dove rehydrating body moisturiser promises to condition the skin and provide 24-hour protection and moisturising effect. Who is fooling who? Never mind, this shows that I can still be KS here downunder. This is my 2nd 375ml bottle.

In this house, everyone has their own tube of lip balm. No one likes cracked lips. There's also lip serum, hair spray conditioner and foot moisturising cream.

With some rainy days, the humidity is better in winter and spring. But the drought condition hasn't improve much and it's still at stage 1 water restriction. Come summer, it's going to get worst. The last water restriction hit stage 3a. With global warming, there's little hope for better climate here.

Rain rain, where are you?

Please come to Australia
Don't go away
