Our first winter came and left. What I thought of winter was really nothing to look forward to. I had images of cold biting wind and rain. Miserable chilly days cooped up in the house. It really wasn't as bad as I thought. And I'm really thankful for those lovely warmer days and most of all, the chance to dress up. Boots and coats, scarves and turtle-neck blouses.
Hello Spring
We've been anticipating for the this time of the year. Spring. Everyone's favourite season. It's no wonder. Blossoms and flowers aplenty. Beautiful blooms all around. People start peeling off their jackets. No longer having to trudge along with those layers of thick jumpers and jackets. It just feels so much lighter, both physically and mentally. There're more people gathering around at parks and side walk cafes. It's a cheery sight.
The little flower bed in autumn (April), still looking fresh with new soil. They look only half as good now. Looking forward to the new blooms this spring.
I started potting these in autumn. They looked gorgeous. But the harsh winter forced them into hibernation. I pruned them down to their main stalk. It's looking pathetic now. I hope they will revive. At the turn of the season, there're now new leaves and little buds sprouting out. Tricia counted 7 tiny little red flowers yesterday. Yah! They're alive.
Waiting, waiting patiently for the new blossoms this spring.
