10 weeks of school term has ended and the term 1 holiday started with Good Friday. It’s a precious long weekend, with Easter Monday being a public holiday. For many families, it’s out to the countryside or the beach to enjoy the last of the sunshine before the full swing of autumn.
We went on our 1st road trip, and we chose the scenic drive of the beautiful countryside and the breathtaking view of the coast along the Bass Strait towards the Wilsons Promotory National Park, the southern most tip of the Australian mainland.
Setting off, Alvin drove along the Gippsland Highway and the Bass Highway, passing through a few suburbs and countless vast land with cows, cattles and horses. We headed towards Tarwin Lower, where we are stayed for 2 nights.

Setting off, Alvin drove along the Gippsland Highway and the Bass Highway, passing through a few suburbs and countless vast land with cows, cattles and horses. We headed towards Tarwin Lower, where we are stayed for 2 nights.
Along the way, we stopover at this gorgeous place called Kilcunda.
Exploring the rock pools at the Kilcunda Bay.

At Tarwin Lower, we had our 1st try with river fishing.
A short drive away from the river took us to Venus Bay… picnic at the beach, flew a kite, threw a Frisbee, played sand and enjoyed the ocean breeze.
No sandcastles, just 'sandbombs'!
After the lovely morning at the beach, we set off on the road again to the Prom Country.
Entering the Wilsons Promotory National Park is like entering another world… We stopped to watch people in a caravan park…there were tent after tent, all shapes and sizes, many many camper vans parked side by side…very interesting indeed…we should probably camp out in the countryside one of these days.
The last leg of our road trip took us to the Phillip Island. We visited a Chocolate Factory, had wine tasting at the vineyard and took a long walk on the broadwalk at the Nobbies, watching the baby penguins.
